Instant Photographs: Cyrus Mahboubian

Cyrus Mahboubian is a London-born photographer whose work has been exhibited nationally and internationally in both solo and group shows over the years. He combines his art practice with occasional commissions and teaching, having taught workshops at venues including Tate Britain and The Photographers' Gallery.

Below is a series of instant photographs Cyrus shot in Los Angeles this past spring. He was there to attend the opening of De Re Gallery, which is on Melrose Avenue and represents him in LA. "Previously I had only been to LA as a young child so the aesthetic language of the city was totally new to me."

"I am still totally engaged and smitten with the ability to make instant analogue photographs. There's something deeply fulfilling about shooting a photo and holding a physical print moments later."
